Brainstorm for Chapter Three:

Whole beat (666-ish words):

4. Hand on the Knob: MC1 commits to embarking on the journey, leaving their comfort zone behind and potentially facing unknown dangers. They are scared and uncertain about what lies ahead, yet brave enough to continue. The main characters start to realize they might fall in love.  Perhaps they see a different side of each other, or have an inexplicably romantic moment (SWIND).  This signals that the characters are willing to face unknown dangers and fears.

Half-beat (333-ish words):

5. The Door Opens: In this part of the story, the hero is on the brink of a big change. They face a small but significant problem that makes it clear there’s no turning back to their old life. It’s like everything’s upside down, and they feel hopeless, but they know they have to push through and keep going. The main characters are starting to fall for each other, showing their bond growing deeper (SWIND).

- Wes, the bartender, has been established as “mentor”.  He has a lot of books and mentors Lulia.

   - There are books and photographs in this world.

   - Wes has a “stargazer” brother who dresses as a cowboy (seen in photograph).

- Lulia and Cannon must “meet” now.  Assuming they are to be Main Character 1 and 2 (love interests)

- rich guy comes to bar, is interested in Lulia sexually, and wants Cannon to play at his birthday party at his palace???  

- Lulia is staying at the Ladder and Mud, Wes has let her stay until she gets on her feet.  She is hanging out at the bar, gets a little drunk.  Cannon is on stage, playing music.  To be antagonistic, she drunkenly mocks the playing.  Cannon dares her to come play tambourine.  She plays with him on stage.  THEN the rich guy comes in and asks Wes to hire the band, cuz the music is good, and the girl is hot.

- Lulia and Cannon now must practice together and get ready for the trip.  While practicing, they have a SWIND moment and start to realize they are attracted to each other.  They find out a thing they have in common or disclose a personal side/secret????

- Lulia is well to do in her village and it is possible that she will know some of the people at the party??  Someone does recognize her, it’s Joppy’s best friend????  He seduces him to keep him quiet???

- OR they are packing up at the end of the party and Lulia and Cannon see something they are not supposed to see.  The Lord is like, “You were not supposed to see that” and Lulia and Cannon now have to go on the run/into  hiding.  The lord is beating up a servant or killing a woman or something???  They make a decision of some kind that puts them in this situation?

- They send a note to the Ladder and Mud or sneak back to it in the middle of the night for their things/supplies.  Wes lets them know that they can go to his brother for safety/help.  So they are now on a journey to stay ahead of the lord that will be hunting them, and to get to the brother at some point.
