Half beat (second half): 11. Clean Break: MC1 is reluctant to return home after reaching their goal due to fear of the unknown, attachment to their new life, or concerns over the consequences of their powers. They may feel comfortable in their current world. The main characters feel betrayal after trusting someone, leading them to strengthen their resolve to remain alone. They breakup, though the possibility of reconciliation remains.
Full beat: 12. No Safety: In the final conflict of a story, the protagonist escapes danger using newfound knowledge, symbolizing their growth. This often includes a chase or battle, highlighting the need to return home as staying is no longer an option. Your characters feel lost after their breakup, questioning how things went wrong again.
- Are they in the moonboat?? They must have found some safe space to be safe from the Jampsons for a month.
- Is Lulia’s chastity linked to the concentration of her power?? Why was Joppy not fucking her when they were together?? Is this something that even needs to be addressed??
- Does the Space Cowboy have a name?? Is it important for us to name him?? Rumplestiltskin style??
- Lulia and Cannon “break up”. Why?? Because Cannon won’t fuck her (a la Joppy)? Because Cannon walks into a training session and does not like what he sees? Lulia is mad at Cannon for not understanding that she needs to do this with the Space Cowboy to be more powerful and he “doesn’t want me to be powerful”? Lulia tries to take Cannon into the sex dungeon and he is not into it? Some other reason for them to break up??
- the final battle? Lulia et al need to stop the moonboat to get supplies, the Jampsons find them there because Cannon has another “round with the artifact” and using this powerful magic alerts the Jampsons to their location. Maybe the voice Cannon hears in his head is actually the Jampsons in some way and Cannon is a spy for them in a way?? Lulia sees Cannon has summoned the Jampsons and thinks he is in league with them, even if he didn’t know he was, from her point of view he knew that he was putting them in danger and summoning them. The win? Lulia knows she is powerful and won the battle and doesn’t need anyone, or any man, to be the wonderful creature she was destined to be?? The Jampsons must be completely destroyed/overpowered in some way or else the battles will just continue. She drops off the boys and takes the moonboat for herself (“Heavy Metal” OST plays - Sammy Hagar, “Heavy Metal”).
