Full Beat: 13. Comfort Seeking: MC1 is saved from danger by an unexpected source, like lightning striking, to help them in a tough situation. The rescue must be believable, as readers often dislike easy solutions. After the rescue, the hero must return home. The main characters begin to understand they have agency, are in control of their own happiness, and must confront their flaws.
Half Beat (1st half): 14. I’ll Show You: The protagonist returns home after their adventure, reflecting on their growth and the changes in their world. Explore how the hero has changed, the differences in their old world, how they adjust to being back, and how others respond to their return. One main character takes a risk to prove their love, leading to the lovers’ reunion and a happy ending (SWIND).
- Space Cowboy has to die?? Can Lulia and Cannon be together with the sexual threat of the SC existing? Does SC become a head in a jar? Dead but contactable by the stars(magic)? Lulia and the SC seem like good friends and it would be nice to keep him alive for their friendship, but ultimately, Cannon and Lulia being together is of utmost importance.
- Does Wes pop up again to save them (“unexpected source”)?
- Cannon must be saved (back to normal) and the Jampsons must be destroyed. By destroying what is wrong in Cannon, the Jampson Estate somehow becomes destroyed??? The SC is killed, but in a heroic, died-by-saving-someone-else kind of way??
- “Unexpected source”s:
- the Moonboat crashes through the ceiling and the prow crushes Cannon??
- The younger woman in the Jampson Estate kills the older Jampson man and this releases Cannon from the spell. Why? She saw Cannon in the bar and fell in love with him and wants to save him?? She is evil so she just does it?? She is pregnant (or has a child) that is male and in the Jampson family, only the eldest males can be powerful or something and as the other Jampson men were killed in the Bordello Blitz, this older man is the only thing standing in the way of her son getting the power?? Is the child sired by Cannon? Cannon does not know about this kid? Setting up a sequel and a love triangle with Cannon in the middle of this young woman and Lulia???
- When the man is killed, Cannon loses all his magic powers and evil intent, and falls to the ground. The SC wants to kill him now but Lulia recognizes that Cannon is himself again (her mind reading powers??) and intercedes to save him.
- After the battle, Lulia, Cannon, and maybe the Space Cowboy jump on the Moonboat and land where the bar used to be in town. The Moonboat is a land locked party boat.
- Do the kids that robbed Lulia come back? Do they get squished by the Moonboat landing? Do they get hired at the bar? Does the SC raise them up to be magical, little Space Cowboys??
- Does Lulia, Cannon, and the SC just become a throuple?? Eliminating the sexual threat of the SC?
- What flaws must they squash to get back together/be happy together? Cannon learns that he doesn’t need to play the lute to be a confident man and have Lulia’s love? Lulia gives up the Space Cowboy?
